Tamar Valley Wine Route

There are cellar doors – and then there are cellar doors to adore. Tasmania is home to nearly 240 vineyards, located in sublime and unique settings. This cool-climate region produces premium wine varieties such as Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, plus dessert wines and sparklings that gain national and international acclaim.

Tasmania’s best-known wine region is the Tamar Valley. Close to Launceston, and literally on the way to the world-class golf courses in Bridport, Tamar Valley is a picturesque patchwork landscape of forested hills, orchards, pastures, and vineyards conveniently situated just north of Launceston. It’s a food and wine aficionado’s wonderland with 30 cellar doors to discover, including Jansz, Pipers Brook, and Stoney Rise, as well as great dining opportunities such as Josef Chromy in Relbia.
